Where you belong
No matter what your interests are, you'll find a group to belong to at First Wayne Street. FWS has groups for young children, grade school kids, junior & senior high schoolers, college aged folks, and adults of every age.
We have Sunday School classes for every age group, including adults. Our Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry offer both routine and special events, either just for kids or for the whole family. And kids under 3 are welcomed, cared for, and entertained in our Nursery.
Young adults are welcome to join our College Connection group, and our F.A.B. (Fifty and Beyond) Group hosts regular activities both at the church and on "field trips" around the Fort Wayne area.
Our Making the Connection program is something really special: offered in six-week or eight-week sessions on most Wednesday nights from fall through spring, MTC includes afternoon classes, a community dinner in Fellowship Hall, and evening classes. Adult class topics have included Painting, Social Media, Zumba, Bible Studies, and children's activities often include choir, chime & handbell choir, art, and physical education.
FWS is also home to an active branch of the United Methodist Women. In addition, many of our members love being a part of the music program at FWS, singing in either the Praise Team or Sanctuary Choir (or both, if you're so inclined!), playing handbells in the handbell choir, or playing an instrument (either with the Praise Team or on special occasions on an as-needed basis).
