Making the Connection
Connect with our Community on Wednesday Nights
First Wayne Street has developed a program of Wednesday evening activities that we call "Making the Connection." The program is designed to nurture and facilitate each person’s faith journey, and members’ family and friends are always welcome! We offer six-week and eight-week short-term sessions on Wednesday afternoons and evenings in Fall I, Fall II, Winter, and Spring sessions that serve a wide variety of interests for all ages.
Making the Connection provides a comfortable, loving atmosphere to adults, youth, and children, giving everyone opportunities to find ways in which to experience God's presence and enhance our own and each other's faith journeys. Adult activities include a variety of offerings from Bible study and book discussions to painting, gardening, crafts, quilting, and more. Youth activities provide a gathering time for study and fellowship. Children's activities combine lesson time, crafts, games, and music.
The current Making the Connection schedule includes:
1:00 pm "You Can Paint!" Painting Class
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Light Supper Served
6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Evening Sessions of Study & Fellowship
Regular offerings include:
Children’s Activities of choir, chimes & the Gloria Ringers (learning to play handbells), as well as arts, crafts & games (starting at 5:45 and ending at 7:30 p.m.).
Youth Activities are held on the 3rd floor from 6:00 to 7:30.
Young Adults are welcome to join Young Adult Connection from 6:00 to 7:30.
Adult Classes are detailed in the current “Making the Connection” brochure, available on the information table before the start of each new session. Details of each current session of "Making the Connection" are also posted on our blog.
