Making the Connection (Special Edition Winter 2018)
Get a healthy start to your new year with our special edition of Making the Connection, from January 10 to February 14th. Our own Kim Truesdell, an ACE certified personal trainer and weight management specialist, will offer both an early and late session. During the early session, from 4 to 5 pm, Kim will offer “Strength and Balance”. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted by the students depending on their fitness level and abilities.
The late class, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., will be “Learn and Burn,” and will feature an all-levels circuit class and a topic to help you be the healthiest you. Chairs will be available for support and minimal equipment will be used. The session will touch on meal planning, cleaning out your pantry, healthy recipe preparation and more! Bring your friends to have a fun time getting tips on how to be healthy in the new year.
Ann Carnes will also once again offer her wonderful painting class from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Even if you have never held a paintbrush, you are welcome to join the class - you may discover talent you didn’t even know you had! The class paints with watercolor, acrylic, regular oil paint, heat-set oil paint, and even pastels. You can choose one or try them all. You will have plenty of encouragement for your endeavors in this loving Christian setting.
The Healing Class will also be continuing, led by Pastor Cookye Rutledge from 6-7:30 pm. New people are encouraged to join the group any time. You will discover that healing belongs to everyone who comes to Jesus with a believing heart. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37
Children and youth will have rehearsals for this year’s Children’s Musical on these evenings. Their activities end at 7:30 pm.
