Online Giving

No matter what your interests are, you’ll find a group to belong to at First Wayne Street. FWS has groups for young children, grade school kids, junior & senior high schoolers, and adults of every age.

We have Sunday School classes for every age group, including adults. Our Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry offer both routine and special events, either just for kids or for the whole family. Children under 3 are welcomed, cared for, and entertained in our Nursery.

Young adults are welcome to join our DisciplesHIP group, and our Boomerang Group (for “Boomer-ish” aged folks) hosts regular activities both at the church and on “field trips” around the Fort Wayne area.

Our Gather program is something really special: offered on most Wednesday nights from fall through spring, Gather includes a community dinner in Fellowship Hall, and evening classes.

FWS is also home to an active branch of the United Methodist Women and a Stephen Ministry group. In addition, many of our members love being a part of the music program at FWS, singing in either the Praise Team or Sanctuary Choir (or both, if you’re so inclined!), playing handbells, or playing an instrument (either with the Praise Team or on special occasions on an as-needed basis).

Events and programs

April outreach focus
The months outreach focus is Alive Community Outreach. Alive Community Outreach has a mission to cultivate a community of nonviolence through relationships and education. We support families affected by violence and educate youth and youth-serving organizations in nonviolence and conflict transformation. Now more than ever we must equip our next generation with skills to navigate conflicts peacefully and a framework for transforming the underlying conditions that continue to produce violence. Together, we can build a Beloved Community free from the cycle of violence.

Youth and family bowling event
Enjoy an afternoon of fun with First Wayne Street. Youth, children, and families are invited to join us at Georgetown Entertainment on April 24. This outing is an opportunity to have fun and enjoy fellowship with our youth and children’s ministries. The cost of shoe rental, lanes, and snacks will be covered. Contact Kim Truesdell with any questions.

Rummage sale
We are now collecting items for our annual rummage sale! Items can be dropped off during normal church office hours and on Sundays.

Gather
Gather is back. Join us Wednesday night for food, fellowship, worship, Bible study and more! Dinner is served from 5-6pm. Children’s ministry begins at 5:45 pm, with opportunities for youth and adults beginning at 6pm. We look forward to seeing you Wednesday night!
