Online Giving

We believe that church should be a place where young people are loved, valued, and want to come to learn about Jesus. We believe it should be a place where kids grow in faith, make friends, and have fun. First Wayne Street offers a unique opportunity for children, youth and their families. Our downtown location draws young people from all of Allen County’s four school corporations.

Children’s Ministry

First Wayne Street provides a safe, secure, and caring environment for your children. Our children’s programming is scripturally rooted, but flexible and fun. At FWS, children experience the love of God through numerous offerings: children’s messages in worship, Sunday school classes, Wednesday evenings’ Gather activities during the school year, Vacation Bible School during the summer, church camp, family outings, and a music program that includes a children’s handbell choir and two children’s choirs. In the fall, First Wayne Street has a “Children & Youth Service,” when the entire service is presented by our children and youth.

For young children, we also maintain a bright, clean nursery.

Our children’s ministry teachers, helpers, and volunteers are dedicated; we have rules that teach respect in an atmosphere of grace and caring. In addition, we observe strict child protection guidelines. The children’s program includes kids up to 5th grade.

Youth Ministry

Our teen years can be some of our most formative. Trying to find yourself and your place in the world, while navigating some of the most important life choices can be overwhelming. At First Wayne Street UMC, children and youth are not just the future of the church. They are a part of the church right — now. Through a dynamic youth ministry, teens can feel empowered to be a disciple of Jesus while making strong connections with their peers.

The First Wayne street youth group is made up of students between 6th and 12th grade. We gather regularly to have fun in fellowship, study, and missions.

Youth group meets on Wednesday nights and the third Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
