Making the Connection | Table Games

Play an old favorite or learn a new game while enjoying the fellowship of members of the congregation.

Each week, the Gillands will lead the group in a different game.

November 7: Rummy Cube
Arrange tiles to form sets and runs, then search for ways to rearrange them to include your remaining tiles.  The first player to use all tiles is the winner.

November 14:   Five Crowns

A card game with five suits that form sets and runs with the help of wild cards.  Players begin with 3 cards with all 3’s wild.  Each deal adding one more card and has a different wild card until, at last, the “kings go wild!”

November 28:   Mexican Train Dominoes

Try to be the first to play all tiles from your hand on trains (chains) beginning at a central hub called the station.  Each player has a “private” train and the game will have several “public” trains where anyone can play.

December 5: Hand and Foot Canasta

A table of two players competing with two others to play all cards in their hands and then each move into the foot with more cards to use while building sets called canastas of seven or more cards.

December 12:   Farkle

A dice game involving luck and your willingness to either quit while you are ahead or to keep on rolling for a higher score.  A non-scoring roll is a “Farkle” which results in zero points and ends your turn.
