First Wayne Street UMC has been awarded a $4,100 grant from the Indiana Center for Congregations (funded by Lilly Endowment for resourcing Indiana congregations).
Congregations could apply for grants up to $5,000 with the church providing 10% matching funding for the purpose of increasing their digital presence through ministry, worship and better communication during this time of social distancing.
Barclay Hall, key member of the FWS audio-visual team, assisted in preparing a list of equipment needs including a dedicated laptop for live-steaming worship, two new cameras, accessory equipment and 24-month funding of our increased internet bandwidth at the church with the 10% match funded from our “new worship ministries” fund.
Even after the congregation is back in the sanctuary for in-person worship, the service will be live-streamed on the internet to reach new folks and those who are unable to attend in person. Great news! God is good!
