Holy Week at First Wayne Street

Join us at First Wayne Street for Holy Week!

— Join us at 10:00 am on Sunday, March 25 for our Palm Sunday Service. Palm Sunday takes place one week before Easter, and commemorates the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and begins the series of observances focusing on the events of Holy Week.

— Later on Palm Sunday, you’re invited to continue the celebration with our very special Palm Sunday Concert at 4:00 pm! First Wayne Street’s Sanctuary Choir & Chamber Choir will be joined by the Trine University Choir, and the choirs will be accompanied by an ensemble featuring Fort Wayne Philharmonic musicians and Dr. Jonathan Mann at the piano. This event will be a full concert, with the first half featuring each of the three choirs individually and jointly, performing smaller choral works from composers such as Ola Gjeilo, Alice Parker, Craig Hella Johnson, and more. The second half of the concert will be American composer Michael J. Trotta’s “Seven Last Words,” a “seven-movement choral journey through the Passion.” Don’t miss it!

— We will have a Holy Thursday Passover Service on Thursday, March 29, at 6:30 pm. Call 422-4681 to reserve your seat for this special service.

— On Friday, March 30, at 7:00 pm, you are invited to our Good Friday Service of Darkness. On this day, the church commemorates Jesus’ arrest, his trial, crucifixion and suffering, death, and burial.

— And on Sunday, April 1, you are invited to our Easter Egg Hunt for all ages at 9:00 am, and to our Easter Sunday Worship service at 10:00 am. Celebrate the risen Christ with First Wayne Street. He is risen! He is risen, indeed!
