Every Wednesday in the months of June and October, at 12:15 p.m., First Wayne Street and AIMA (Adventures in Musical Arts) showcase a 30-minute musical performance from a talented local performer or group of performers.

June 2023 Concert Schedule
June 7: Dr. Daniel Schwandt
The Germanfest Organ Recital will feature Dr. Daniel Schwandt, who will present a program of organ music by German masters, showcasing the fabulous Beckerath pipe organ. After the recital, a catered meal of German food will be available for purchase.
June 14: Kenneth Jiang
Kenneth Jiang will perform his own solo arrangement of Rachmaninov’s 3rd piano concerto in what is sure to be a thrilling performance. Due to the length of the concerto, this recital will last about 45 minutes.
June 21: Dr. Geoffrey North
Dr. Geoffrey North will perform minimalist piano music by composers such as Glass, Gjeilo, and Richter, as well as his own compositions.
June 28: Dr. Geoffrey North
Dr. North will return to present an Organ Recital of favorites from around the world.
First Wayne Street United Methodist Church is committed to offering the best in the musical arts – not just through WOWS concerts, but also in our regular Sunday worship services, held every Sunday at 10:00 AM. The church features a talented choir of amateurs and professional Choral Scholars that sings in worship each week as well as a praise team, adult handbell choir and a graduated music program for children and youth. Hymns are ecumenical and traditional and preaching is insightful. Upcoming services with a particular focus on music include a spectacular hymn festival in October and Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve. Join us!
First Wayne Street’s sanctuary is a wonderful acoustic space, and First Wayne Street has a long history of supporting and offering fine music. Our music program includes vocal and handbell choirs for preschoolers through adults, and often features soloists and instrumentals (including both members of our congregation and of the community).
