Every Wednesday in the months of June and October, at 12:15 p.m., First Wayne Street and AIMA (Adventures in Musical Arts) showcase a 30-minute musical performance from a talented local performer or group of performers.

October 2022 Concert Schedule
October 5: Lisa Gerstenkorn, contralto
Ms. Gerstenkorn is a Heartland Vocal Artist and a regular performer in operas and musicals throughout the USA and Canada. She will perform a program of arias and art songs, accompanied by Geoffrey North.
October 12: The Purdue Treble Choir
The Purdue Fort Wayne Treble Choir is a select choir of treble (soprano and alto) voices. They will perform choral music under the direction of Emily Bird.
October 19: Violetta Todorova, violin
Ms. Todorova is the Concertmaster of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. She will perform a program of music by Bach, Pärt, and Kreisler, accompanied by Geoffrey North
October 26: Geoffrey North, piano
First Wayne Street’s own Dr North will perform the five Metamorphosis by Philip Glass.
First Wayne Street United Methodist Church is committed to offering the best in the musical arts – not just through WOWS concerts, but also in our regular Sunday worship services, held every Sunday at 10:00 AM. The church features a talented choir of amateurs and professional Choral Scholars that sings in worship each week as well as a praise team, adult handbell choir and a graduated music program for children and youth. Hymns are ecumenical and traditional and preaching is insightful. Upcoming services with a particular focus on music include a spectacular hymn festival in October and Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve. Join us!
First Wayne Street’s sanctuary is a wonderful acoustic space, and First Wayne Street has a long history of supporting and offering fine music. Our music program includes vocal and handbell choirs for preschoolers through adults, and often features soloists and instrumentals (including both members of our congregation and of the community).
