Barry was born and raised in Rochester, New York. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Gordon College (Boston), a Masters of Divinity Degree from Gordon-Conwell Seminary (Boston), and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from McCormick Seminary (Chicago). His pastorates include Bermuda, Whitesville WV, Fort Wayne IN, Huntington IN, and Fostoria OH. He served as a Nursing Home Chaplain in North Manchester IN and Fostoria OH. He was an administrator at the University of Saint Francis, a grant administrator for the Church of the Brethren, and an adjunct instructor at Purdue Fort Wayne and the University of Saint Francis. He is a Church of the Brethren pastor.
Barry lives in Fort Wayne with his wife Donna and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Archie. Barry and Donna have a son, Ian, daughter-in law, Lauren, and a granddaughter, Thea. Semi-retired, he enjoys woodworking, gardening, hiking, fishing, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
