SAI to host benefit concert at FWS

The Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota invites you to a Benefit Concert of Chamber Music at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.

Tickets cost $25 per person; reservations are required. Please contact Ann Donner at (260) 456-6600 to reserve your seat.  This event will benefit our Music Scholarships and Special Projects. Additional donations are welcome.

The mission of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity is to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music. On the local level, scholarships are awarded annually to members of the Fort Wayne Youth Symphony for study at summer music camps, to FAME (the Foundation for Art and Music in Elementary Education) for a Fine Arts Camp scholarship, to the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir which does a wonderful job of training students to read music and sing well, to a member of the college chapter of SAI at Purdue University Fort Wayne for educational expenses, and to the Summer String Camp held at PFW.

Promoting music by women composers and American composers (men and women) is also a special interest of ours. We have commissioned several pieces by women composers for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in the past.
