The holidays are full of tradition — from baking cookies to watching holiday movies to attending Christmas Eve service. One tradition at First Wayne Street is adopting a family from the Allen County Christmas Bureau.
The Christmas Bureau adopts families selected by case managers at several social service agencies in Allen County. Our church will provide gifts, a Christmas Day meal, food for the family’s pantry, and hygiene products.
REMEMBER, THIS IS THE ONLY CHRISTMAS THE FAMILY RECEIVES!
This year’s FWSUMC family includes two adults and four children.
A Christmas tree has been set up in the Narthex, and it is decorated with tags of the family’s needs and wishes. To participate, select a tag, shop for the item, and return it to church by Tuesday, November 30. If you choose to buy a clothing item, please include a gift receipt.
We are also collecting non-perishable food and household items, including laundry detergent, toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, cleansers, flour, sugar, peanut butter, oatmeal, rice, etc. You can also make a cash donation, which will be put toward gift tags on the tree or grocery store gift cards.
Help us bless a family this Christmas.
