The sound of fall is not just the crunching of leaves or the whistle of the cool breeze.
The music ministry at First Wayne Street is preparing to delight visitors during the month of October. The Wednesdays on Wayne Street music series will return, and the Hymn Festival
will be Oct. 27.
Beginning Oct. 2, musicians will perform a free 30-minute concert at 12:15 p.m. in the sanctuary. A light lunch follows at 12:45 p.m. Luke Fitzpatrick, the principal flutist for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, will kick off the series with a solo performance.
Oct. 9: Geoffrey North, organ. First Wayne Street UMC Director of Music Geoffrey North will perform a program of French music on the wonderful German Beckerath organ.
Oct. 16: Tim and Colleen Tan, violins. This husband-and-wife duo both play violin with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. They will delight with a program featuring music by Vivaldi, Kreisler, and more!
Oct. 23: Kenneth Jiang, piano. Jiang will astonish with his own transcription of Tchaikovsky’s first piano concerto.This recital will be about 45 minutes long.
